‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 9 preview: Jennifer Carpenter’s Deb gets her distance

Dexter -Over the past two or so seasons of “Dexter,” there is little doubt that Jennifer Carpenter’s Deb has been through the wringer when it comes to her brother. She finds out he’s a killer, finds out that he’s a serial killer, kills LaGuerta in order to protect him, and then tries to kill both herself and him so that the pain would end.

Now, the video below makes it seem as though she is actually desperate to get back to square one. We really cannot blame her, as she doesn’t want anything to do with this anymore. She just wants to get away from the madness, and focus more on something (anything) that could matter to her own life, which could include trying to do some good in the world. This is why Deb is at the police station, and she is considering getting a job back as a detective.

However, finding out the news from Dexter about Zach Hamilton’s death could change things. It’s another detail that she would have to explain, and it’s hard to keep up lies when you are working with a group of people who are always about trying to extract the truth from any situation. She clearly doesn’t want to know anything that Dexter tells her on the subject, but it’s a “too bad” sort of situation; now, that will simply continue to live and fester itself inside of her brain for a long time. So congratulations, Deb? It’s easy to say that we feel for her and we do.

Want to see some more “Dexter” sneak peeks? The video here will give you some greater sense of the danger that Hannah finds herself in yet again, and how Dexter risks everything in trying to lend her a helping hand.
