‘The Newsroom’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Jerry continues to be frustrating
On Sunday night’s “The Newsroom,” Operation Genoa is going to completely come to a head … and there is going to be in some ways complete and utter chaos that ends up coming as a result. The fighting that occurs at ACN is going to be extremely intense, but for a pretty good reason: The story that they are going to be reporting is something that could change almost everything in the world of U.S. news as we know it.
Of course, it would help if the story is true.
The video below from this upcoming installment highlights a dispute between Jim Harper and Jerry Dantana over the legitimacy of Genoa, which is something that the latter has put months and months of work into. What he is suffering from may at least in part be following his nose, but there is also something else along with it: A likely bias for his own report to be correct after all of the time he has put into it. He is so far down the rabbit hole at this point that there really is no getting out of it if he wants to keep his credibility intact.
At the end of the day, we already know that this episode is not going to have a particularly happy ending for everyone involved. Two characters will tender their resignation by the end, which puts the show in an extremely precarious position moving into what are the final weeks of the season.
What do you want to see happen before “The Newsroom” signs off for the year? Be sure to also come back tomorrow, as we are going to have another sneak peek from this episode to share at that time.
