‘The Walking Dead’ season 4: AMC to air sneak peek during ‘Low Winter Sun’ episode

More news -There is one message that we take from the following story: AMC desperately wants to make “Low Winter Sun” happen. Despite being a solid series so far, the show lost a ton of viewers in its second episode after “Breaking Bad” this past Sunday.

Now, the network’s newest sneaky strategy to get you to watch the show (since putting “Breaking Bad” promos in it clearly is not enough) is having a sneak peek for their behemoth “The Walking Dead” in the middle of the show. Given that this series draws huge demo ratings and more viewers than the majority of AMC’s original series (save for “Breaking Bad”) combined, we understand the interest in cross-promotion to get a few more viewers.

Personally, we do nonetheless think that AMC is going about this completely the wrong way. This is the sort of stuff that made “Small Town Security” a laughingstock, and we think it causes more resentment than anything else for the show that they are trying to promote. Now, Twitter will be talking about being annoyed while watching “Low Winter Sun,” rather than being excited to do so. Instead, they should just be accenting why the show is great and worth your time if you already enjoy “The Walking Dead.”

“The Walking Dead” will premiere in October, not too long after “Breaking Bad” airs its series finale on the network. What you can expect? Michonne with a horse, more zombies than ever, and of course some new characters. It will be a more human season than anything the show has done before, courtesy very much of the awareness that viewers need to feel for these people while also watching them suffer.
