‘Teen Wolf’ season 3 spoilers: Could a spin-off feasibly happen?
Given that MTV has finally found itself a scripted drama series in “Teen Wolf” that it can be proud of, and that also packs a pretty significant ratings punch, the idea of it eventually having its own spin-off show is something that is really hardly much of a surprise at all. As a matter of fact, we imagine that it is almost inevitable that it would be considered since it marks another opportunity to launch a new property, and this in turn could be used to launch something else.
Of course, nothing is confirmed here, but we at least have a decent idea of who executive producer Jeff Davis would want to be the star … and it’s not even someone that we have seen yet. Rather, he tells E! News that the character that has crossed his mind as having this sort of potential is Kitsune, who you are going to meet early during the second half of the season as a pretty major character:
“I shouldn’t say this because who knows if there would be a chance of it, I wanted to do it as a spin-off, as its own show. Partly because I wanted to try doing a female character, our version of a Buffy, but the Kitsune myth is just such a good myth. She’s a shapeshifter, but she can sometimes be a beautiful woman or she can be tree or she can shapeshift into a mountain.”
Okay, so we don’t know how she would shift into a mountain and have it fit into a single camera shot, but this character does at least sound like a nice twist from what we were expected, and a nice change from Sam Merlotte and the other shifters on “True Blood,” who can only become animals.
