‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: Josh Radnor on keeping things under wraps

Are you ready to finally “meet” the mother on “How I Met Your Mother”? Well based on what we’re hearing now, you’re going to have an opportunity to say hello to her a little bit faster than Ted Mosby will following the show’s return to TV on Monday, September 23. We know already that she will meet every character before she circles around to him, but that moment will come … in time.

What’s more interesting than any of that right now (at least in terms of this being information that we’ve heard already) is Josh Radnor’s latest quote regarding whether or not he actually wants to know very much about the show in advance. Just take a look at it below via E! News:

“I try to not know too much because I have to play him without knowing. I’m not the narrator, I’m the present day. I don’t have all the facts.”

Now, when Ted does meet the Mother, the show’s bosses have already promised that this meeting is going to be more than a quick “hi” and then a fade to black. There will be something of substance that comes out of it, and there is also going to be an interesting story that comes out of it. Expect some great uses for Cristin Milioti this year, including some of the instances of her coming close to meeting Ted, only to not have it happen. The irony here is that she has seen him well before this meeting in Farhampton, even if he does not realize it; she was in his classroom at one point, in something that has become almost a forgotten nugget in the show’s mythology.
