You have surely heard already about the castings of both Demi Lovato and Adam Lambert on “Glee” season 5, but here is a name that you may not have heard as much about to this point: Phoebe Strole. She is an actress who has appeared on “30 Rock” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” and also starred in the stage adaptation of “Spring Awakening” alongside Lea Michele, who left in order to take part in the Fox sensation.
It was actually Lea herself who first posted the news about Strole joining the show, sharing the following message this afternoon on her Twitter account:
“Such amazing news that two of my very best friends are going to be on #Glee this year! @ddlovato & @PhoebeStrole! Thank you @MrRPMurphy! ❤”
There is no news yet on who Strole will play on the show, but given her history with stage work and also New York City, we would be stunned if she was not incorporated in some way into what Lea’s Rachel Berry is up to. This is also the same part of the country where Demi will be featured as Dani, an artist-type who becomes close with both her and Santana.
“Glee” season 5 is in the process right now of shooting their two-part tribute to the Beatles, which will begin airing on September 26 as the premiere. The third episode of the season (airing on October 10) is going to be the tribute to Cory Monteith. In addition to being an accomplished actress / singer, it also makes sense for Murphy to bring in actors like Strole, who Lea is familiar with to help get her through what has to be one of the most-difficult times her life.
