‘American Idol’ season 13: Could Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun actually be a judge?

The wait continues -In the world of “American Idol” judging rumors, which are hotter than fire right now despite the show’s ratings dropping like a stone, this one definitely has to be one of the stranger ones that we have heard: Scooter Braun, best known to the world as the talent manager who discovered Justin Bieber and still helps to run his career, is someone being at least considered on some level.

Us Weekly first reported this news, saying that Jennifer Lopez in particular is fond of him, and that Braun has at least taken a meeting about the job. As for whether or not he would be good for it, that’s a good question. He clearly knows talent, and what works in the modern music world.

At the same time, Braun’s a polarizing choice right now. Not everyone in the world of music really likes Bieber, and some of that blowback would likely come back and hit Scooter on a certain level. If people do not like the singer, they could be turned off if Scooter drops his name often. We also don’t really know enough about his personality to know if he would be a good fit, even if he has worked with a popular “Canadian Idol” alum in Carly Rae Jepsen.

As of right now, the biggest competition that Braun really has for the job, if he even wants it, is Dr. Luke. The music producer is desired by producers, especially after talks broke down with will.i.am and both Kanye West and Diddy said no.

There is still not an immediate need to announce who could be the replacement for the gig, given that they probably have another week or two, depending on when the audition rounds will actually start filming.
