‘The Originals’ spoilers: Daniel Gillies’ Elijah the focus of latest promo

The folks over at “The Originals” are still wasting little time when it comes to busting out new promos for their show, and with this one, we have some more reminders that even though we are in a new city in New Orleans, some things are not going to change … including the complicated family dynamic between Elijah and Klaus.

In some ways, we see it as a surprise that Elijah is still really willing to talk with his brother at all, when you remember what he has been put through thanks to him. We’re talking about danger, violence, and losing people that he loves. Then again, these two have been around for so long at this point, they probably have grown to a certain extent numb of the world surrounding them. Bodies come and go, but they continue to persevere; and while they could escape from each other, they chose instead to be together.

As of right now, most of the promotion is being focused on Daniel Gillies and Joseph Morgan’s characters, but Claire Holt’s Rebekah is going to have quite a bit of story to tell all her own before this series really gets going strong. The only reason that she has not been a part of all of the promotional material is simply that she was not a huge part of the backdoor pilot, and she will be wrapping up her time on “The Vampire Diaries” on October 3 before coming over to the spin-off when it hits its normal Tuesday time slot.
