‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 8 preview: Who’s afraid of Yvonne Strahovski’s Hannah?

If you have been watching “Dexter” at all this season, there’s no need to really even answer this question, because it’s Deb that is afraid of Hannah McKay, and for good reason. She is the definition of bad news as far as she is concerned, given that she has already tried to poison her once, and you can practically guarantee that she will continue to be up to the same old tricks.

Then, to make matters worse, you have someone in Dexter who either doesn’t care about Deb’s feelings of security, or is so blinded by his love for Hannah that he is really not able to see the forest through the trees. In the sneak peek below, he insists to her that the problem is being taken care of, and that she will be gone from Miami and out of their lives as soon as she gets a passport. However, he means this just about as much as he meant it the first time; believe him until he gets close to her, since his stance has clearly softened already.

We have little confidence that Dexter will do anything about Hannah at all, mostly because he hasn’t been so keen to do anything yet. This sets up a final few weeks of this season that are not only dangerous for Deb, but dangerous for Hannah, Dexter, and just about everyone else. There seems to be a 1% chance that the series ends with Dexter and his “love” taking Harrison into Argentina and living a happy life away from the attention of the law. It’s just not going to happen.
