While “Supernatural” season 9’s premiere may still be a little ways away, why not enjoy some of the little teasers that The CW is being kind enough to give us? Only a matter of days after seeing the first image of our now-three leading men together, this one is front and center all about Misha Collins’ role of Castiel.
In this photo, Castiel looks almost a tad melancholy, but given that this is a behind-the-scenes photo designed more to give you an idea of what the actual photo will look like (a preview for a preview, if you will), it’s hard to say what the final product will look like in the end. We do dig the man’s suit, and it’s nice to see that being a fallen angel can still lead to having a good many options when it comes to fashion.
This season, at least in the early going, is probably going to be Castiel-centric to at least a certain degree. With Castiel now on earth, he is going to basically have to learn to experience life much as a child, with wonder and amazement. This could feasibly lead to some great fish-out-of-water moments that are certainly entertaining, but also a little bit sad when you realize just what sort of loneliness could be born out of this.
Collins was named a series regular earlier this spring, a response to both the story, and legion of fans who love the character being a major part of the “Supernatural” universe.
The new season premieres on The CW on Tuesday, October 8 (as seen in the photo above), and you can click here to see what TV host is going to be making a guest appearance on an upcoming episode.
