‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: Still, the ghost of Lexie remains

What's next? -If you were starting to move past the tragic death of Lexie Grey over a season ago on “Grey’s Anatomy,” we have some pretty sad news to report now: The loss of the character is still going to loom pretty large in an episode of season 10. (We’re not talking about a literally ghost here like a Denny situation, but it’s painful nonetheless.)

According to a new report from E! News, there is going to be an upcoming episode during season 10 where events happen that cause this wound to be re-opened for one of the show’s characters, and this will be a difficult thing to try and get over again. What makes this story particularly interesting to us is that when you really stop and think about it for a minute, we were spared of most of the emotional mourning process when it comes to Lexie. There was a little bit of a time jump that took place, and everything was happening so fast with Mark dying, as well, that characters chose to internalize most of their pain rather than making it clear in a more public venue.

We already know that the specter of death is hanging huge in the world of “Grey’s Anatomy” as it is, with one of the primary reasons for that simply being that the fate of James Pickens Jr.’s Chief Webber still hangs in the balance. No one quite knows what will happen to him except for Shonda Rhimes and she certainly isn’t going to say anything … even if her history of having bad things happen to some of her characters is pretty well-documented at this point.

The news season of “Grey’s Anatomy” is going to premiere on ABC on Thursday, September 26 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we are of course going to have much more in the way of scoop over the next several days.
