With the October 8 premiere of “Supernatural” season 9 rapidly approaching, now is the time that The CW starts to pull out all of the stops to ensure that you do one very-important thing: Watch the show in just under two months, and get tremendously excited about it in the process.
This photo was posted by The CW as a reward for fans tweeting out that they were hoping to see it 2,000 times, which is the newest hot thing that many networks are doing now to try to build up attention for their shows in the off months. On the surface, this picture does not give too much of anything away: You have Sam (Jared Padalecki), you have Dean (Jensen Ackles), and you have Castiel (Misha Collins) and that’s about it.
If you really wanted to get specific about this, more so than probably than what the network was actually intending, then we suppose that you could probably point a little bit of attention to the healthier appearance of Sam following him going through the wringer last year for the trials, or that Castiel is sporting a very dapper appearance that makes him look like he showed up far too formal to an event that was supposed to be casual. Then again, you gotta cut the guy some slack: He’s not used to being anything other than an angel, which he has been for the entirety of his life so far. (Seeing Castiel act human? Likely entertainment gold.)
The casting process for the show has already began, and we’re also starting to find out a few details about episodes that are extending beyond the first few, which are supposed to be very angel-heavy and focus on how Castiel gets used to his new surroundings (among other things). Stay tuned, since we’re going to, as always, have more “Supernatural” scoop as it becomes available.
