Angela Kinsey is officially not out of work for very long following her time on “The Office.” The actress had been occasionally attached to pilots over the course of last year, but has instead landed (per TV Guide) a cushy spot on the upcoming third season of Fox’s “New Girl.”
As for what sort of role the actress will be playing, the truth is that there are going to be some similarities right away between the character and Angela in accounting, who was really not the nicest person in the world to everyone during her stay at Dunder-Mifflin. She will again be a snobby co-worker, but this time she will be a fellow teacher at the school Jess is working at who is somewhat turned off by some of her quirkiness. Think Angela whenever Michael Scott entered the room, but with extra quirky.
Even though we are still early in the production, “New Girl” is doing a great job of lining up all of their guest stars already and preparing us for some pretty fantastic things. The biggest news out there is that Damon Wayans Jr. will be back this fall for a handful of episodes as Coach, the man who roomed with both Nick and Schmidt during the days of the pilot; meanwhile, we also have Merritt Wever returning early during the season as Elizabeth, the one woman that really allowed Schmidt to do something other than throw money into a certain jar.
The new season will premiere on Fox beginning on Tuesday, September 17 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, so celebrate the simple fact that we really are just a little over a month away from getting to where we want to be.
