‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Nina Dobrev arrives in Los Angeles for Teen Choice Awards

In just less than a day’s time now, a good percentage of the most-popular stars in teen entertainment are going to be descending upon Los Angeles, and it will be for one sole reason: Preparing for the 2013 Teen Choice Awards.

One of the celebrities that has already arrived in Los Angeles? Nina Dobrev, who actually has multiple events worth celebrating within the span of 24 hours. Tonight, she has the Cosmopolitan party to celebrate her recent cover on the popular magazine, and she will be following that up with the awards tomorrow. Given just how passionate some of the “Vampire Diaries” faithful are about their show, we would really question your sanity if you thought that Nina or her show were not favorites to win in the Choice Sci-Fi / Fantasy category.

Nina will be likely joined at the awards show by a good many of her other co-stars, including another possible winner in Ian Somerhalder and a few other important names. This is going to be a very interesting show this year, especially when you compare it to some of the sillier broadcasts from years past. We know that there will be at least a few emotional moments courtesy of the tribute that is being planned to honor the late Cory Monteith, and it will be up to the hosts Darren Criss and Lucy Hale to try to find a way to mix some humor into the proceedings, as well.

For Nina, this is a very quick trip out to the City of Angels, given that she has more work to do back on the “Vampire Diaries” set in Atlanta. Season 5 is currently in production, with the premiere date set for Thursday, October 10 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
