‘Game of Thrones’ season 4: Who’s landed a role on another channel?

What's next? -

In this edition of “As the ‘Game of Thrones‘ world turns,” we have another casting news that surely has some fans of the HBO series sitting around and wondering what it could potentially mean for the future of one of the characters. Why is that? It involves the booking of another series, and of course this in turn means a multitude of new schedule conflicts.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tobias Menzies, otherwise known for playing the part of Edmure Tully, has signed on for Starz’s much-anticipated series “Outlander,” where he will play the parts of Frank Randall and Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall. When you consider the prospect of playing two roles (especially on a heavy book adaptation), you have to go ahead and assume that you are really not going to have too much of a life at all during production to work on anything else.

To be fair, it is still not entirely clear just what sort of role Menzies really has left for him over on “Game of Thrones,” given that Edmure’s role in the future of the show is somewhat ambiguous. It’s presumed that he is still alive following the Red Wedding, but is he going to be capable of doing much else while still under the keep of Walder Frey? We’re not spoiling anything here for those who have not read the George R.R. Martin books, so don’t worry about us delivering some sort of spoiler dragonbreath all over you.

Do you think this will have any impact at all on some of what the show has planned for the upcoming year? As always, we want to hear some of your thoughts below!
