‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11 spoilers: Amber Tamblyn to play Charlie’s daughter

Casting news -Now, let’s talk a little bit about big surprises in the world of casting. When we first heard that “Two and a Half Men” was casting a woman to play the part of Charlie Harper’s illegitimate daughter on the show, we assumed that they were going to go with a relatively no-name actress who was stereotypical to what the Chuck Lorre mold would be of a young woman on this show. Therefore, we expected an airhead who talks with a valley girl accent.

Luckily, we do have something that is worth celebrating: Amber Tamblyn is getting the role instead! Sources claim that the former “Joan of Arcadia” star, who has also recurred on Fox’s “House,” is going to be appearing as Jenny. She shares many of the same traits as her father (including an interest in the ladies), and is moving to Los Angeles in an attempt to become an actress. What better way to get started in the city than moving in with a billionaire?

What we are a bit more confused about at this point is how Walden Schmidt yet again is cornered into this. Neither he nor Alan owe Jenny anything, as Charlie is dead as a doornail. It is a nice way to bring some of Charlie Sheen’s energy back into the show, and we are at pleased that it is coming via an accomplished actress who is getting to show off her comedy chops.

Tamblyn will appear in at least five episodes this season, and possibly become a series regular down the line if her role goes over well. She is basically replacing Angus T. Jones, who has left the show to attend college and may or may not appear this season.
