While there was some work done last week in the recording studio in order to prepare for “Glee” season 5, Monday marked the first real day of filming, when some of the actors affiliated with the show were going to be able to arrive at the all-too-familiar setting of McKinley High School in order to film scenes. It was definitely a much different sort of environment and feel than in years past, largely due to the death of Cory Monteith still hitting the actors and crew members hard.
However, the “Glee” group is a family, and this was really the beginning of normalcy again for the group. Darren Criss tweeted out a photo yesterday from the all-familiar classroom, and he was joined online by some of his co-stars including Kevin McHale, (Artie), Iqbal Theba (Figgins), and Becca Tobin (Kitty). What this really showed us is that the first few days of filming are going to be more geared around the crew at McKinley High rather than the gang from New York. (See what we did there?)
Chris Colfer has already revealed that he won’t be on set for a couple of days, so don’t expect there to be some sort of immediate answer as to whether or not we’re going to be seeing Kurt and Blaine engaged in the near future. While Lea Michele and Naya Rivera have each also done some work on the show, they have also not filmed any scenes as of yet. That will be coming very soon.
