ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: When will we learn the truth about Olivia / Fitz leak?

Going into the third season of “Scandal,” we see there being one big question in particular that have a tendency to drive fans up the wall more so than any other: Who leaked the story about Olivia and Fitz’s affair to the world? This is something that has the fictional press talking their faces off without a doubt, but it is something that still has a major air of mystery about it.

Luckily, you’re going to be getting some answers somewhat soon. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Shonda Rhimes proclaimed that the answer will be revealed during the season premiere on October 3, and Bellamy Young also explained that it would be a mistake to automatically assume that Mellie is really the only person with a serious ax to grind on Olivia:

“You’d be surprised by how many people have motive and opportunity and means. It’s an incredible hour of television of going on the ride to find out who leaked it, and you will find out in the first episode back. It’s the big giant domino and sets the whole season in motion.”

As for some other important story threads, expect to see a major peek into Olivia’s past this season, as the father reveal creates all sorts of questions as to how she grew up, and if her upbringing plays a significant part in her becoming the person that she is today. Also, the healthiest relationship that we will be seeing early on may come as a surprise: James and Cyrus, who were not always seeing eye-to-eye during much of season 2.
