‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 6 preview: A change in Dr. Vogel’s behavior

It continues -At the end of last week’s “Dexter” season 8 episode, there was some significant movement in the story as it appeared that the Brain Surgeon had finally been done away with. Thanks to this, it appeared that there was no real reason for us to be seeing Dr. Evelyn Vogel (Charlotte Rampling) again on the show anytime soon.

As it turns out, however, this has been proven wrong already. On Sunday night’s new episode, Dexter is going to need to pay the “good” doctor a visit, and for an interesting reason: One of the new clients that she is taking on is going to show some behavior patterns that are, in a few words, rather unacceptable to society. Specifically, we are talking here about Zack Hamilton. If you remember to last week, this is the teenager that may be guilty of killing his housekeeper, and his father was named a suspect in the process.

For Vogel, this presents an opportunity for her doing what she does best: Trying to help a young psychopath deal with what is ultimately their place in the universe (and manipulating everyone around her). However, for Dexter this marks something completely and utterly different: An opportunity to find some evidence, and then purge the world of another deadly person. After what happened to a failed patient of Vogel’s in Yates, he does not want to run the risk of another one of her monsters roaming around Miami, even if he technically is one of them himself. Is there irony in here? Sure, but we also assume that there is ego at play too.

Vogel makes it clear that this is where there is a difference of opinion between the two parties, and this could be the beginning of an important rift that lasts for the vast majority of the season. Vogel knows that Dexter is beyond dangerous, and she will have to work hard to ensure that he does not kill Hamilton before she has an opportunity to try and help him.

Some future photos have already teased where this story is going and if you want to read about that, our advice is to head on over to the link here.
