‘Glee’ season 5: Fox releases memorial title card for Cory Monteith

Forever remembered -While you may have to wait until episode 3 of season 5 to really see just what “Glee” has planned to commemorate the life of one of their own in Cory Monteith, the Fox series is at least doing what they can now to make it clear just how much the man means to them, and to the success of the show.

During a repeat viewing of the show on Thursday, the network unveiled a brief 11-second title card showing some video highlights of Monteith’s time on the show as Finn Hudson, accompanied by the line “Cory Monteith, forever in our hearts.” These title cards are not meant to be any longer than this, so in the event that you are even remotely worried about him not getting his proper due on the show, don’t worry: He will have all of that and more in due time.

Monteith died suddenly last month due to complications of alcohol and heroin use in Vancouver, and was coming off a stay in a treatment facility earlier in the summer. “Glee” has already announced that it plans to air PSAs featuring creator Murphy and the cast during the tribute, which will film a little later this month. Production is close to beginning for the new season, and we imagine the first month or so is going to be incredibly emotional as they try to move forward following a tragic loss that no one saw coming.

This is undoubtedly a heavy subject, but we do have more resources on the tragedy if you want to read more about it. If you click here, you can see what Lea Michele and many others are saying right now, along with some specific plans that the show has to commemorate the late actor.
