‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Regina’s lawless ways

Lana ParrillaRegina may be willing to put on a good face at times on “Once Upon a Time” in order to get what she wants, but let’s face it: There is always going to be a part of her that is the Evil Queen. No amount of kind words from Henry or heroic gestures is going to change that. Even when she does good things, there is always a possibility that there is a string attached to them that has to do with some pretty awful tactics that were used to get from point A to point B.

So when it comes to trying to free Henry from his current prison in Neverland, don’t expect to see Regina being so keen to follow all of the rules when trying to make her adopted son safe. She will do anything, and sometimes that can mean both good and bad things. Just check out executive producer Adam Horowtiz’s comments per TV Guide for more:

“If the Queen’s got a better way to get Henry that may break the law, so be it. It’s prison rules”

Meanwhile, Horowitz makes it clear that when it comes to Ginnifer Goodwin’s Mary Margaret, the same set of rules do not exactly apply. She is much more concerned with doing things the right way, both in order to help herself and others:

“This year, it’s about finding the hope. It’s the hope that Snow White always brought to us. She’s the light. I think she’s going to see a lot of darkness and realize that the best thing she can do is return the light to not just her, but to get daughter and her husband.”

Which side will win out in the end? Probably good, but there is no proof that we will come to this conclusion anytime soon. Just stay tuned, and keep watch over all of the stunts that Regina is probably going to pull on the world’s most-chaotic pirate ship.
