‘Fringe’ alum Anna Torv finds next major TV gig on Ryan Murphy’s ‘Open’

HBOFor those of you who have been desperate to see more of Anna Torv on TV, we have some great news for you now: The actress behind Olivia on “Fringe” now has secured herself a new major gig, and hopefully this will be one that actually gets some awards shows to pay attention to her.

In a role that is certainly very different than anything that she has done in the past, Torv is set to co-star on Ryan Murphy’s upcoming HBO project “Open,” playing a yoga instructor named Windsor who is in a longterm relationship with Holly (Jennifer Jason Leigh), but ends up meeting another woman in Grace that she has some sort of instant connection to. The casting for this character is still unclear.

“Open,” was picked up as a pilot by HBO after a bidding war by multiple parties. Just based on the names that are already attached here, it’s easy to believe that this show will end up being delivered to series, especially when you consider its provocative subject matter of human sexuality. This is clearly the most adult project that Ryan has on TV right now, even though “American Horror Story” does have its own moments that are certainly not for young audiences (or the faint of heart, for that matter).

These two actors join Wes Bentley and Scott Speedman, who were both previously announced as part of the projects.
