NBC’s ‘Parenthood’ season 5: Craig T. Nelson and the promotion debate

ParenthoodRemember “Parenthood,” that little show that often goes ignored? What has probably driven most of these fans into somewhat of a community over the years has been the “us against the world” mentality. This is a show that NBC routinely has stalled on when it comes to renewing, and has aired it at various times of the year and with varying episode orders.

Yet, here we are today. Not only is “Parenthood” at season 5, but it is one of the network’s most creative and commercial successes. There are a devoted legion of fans out there, and they likely appreciate the due that the folks associated with the program are finally getting.

Who is one of these said people? Craig T. Nelson, who has at times been critical of his employer in the past, even going so far as to use harsh words to describe how the network is not exactly allowing anyone to know what their show really is. That changed slightly when the show had a panel at TCA this week, and he explained whether or not he feels like the pattern has changed at all:

“I can just tell you that, you know, you get associated with a show that you love and a show you believe in, with a cast that’s just extraordinary, and you get frustrated with the fact it doesn’t seem to be honored the way you feel it should be.”

Do you think that we’re seeing a changing of the guard finally when it comes to “Parenthood,” or just a simple move to satisfy fans along with the cast and crew? If you want to check out some more of the latest casting updates related to the show, just be sure to head on over to the link here.
