‘The Bachelorette’ rankings: Why is Brooks Forester Desiree Hartsock’s top pick?

BrooksWe’re going to do something different with this edition of “The Bachelorette” rankings, since this could otherwise just be us beating the same drum over and over again if we did not. Basically, you know the order of things by now: Brooks Forester is the top contender, with Drew Kenner in second place and Chris Siegfried in third. This is the same order that we’ve had things in for the past several weeks, and there was nothing that happened in the “Men Tell All” special taping that suggested that we’re wrong with any of our assumptions.

So instead, we’re going to touch on the why when it comes to Brooks and Desiree. Why is she clearly so smitten with him, even more so than some of the others? We’ve come up with a good three reasons why.

1. He’s hard-to-get – It’s an old rule of dating, regardless of whether or not you are a man or a woman: People enjoy the thrill of the chase. Brooks is not giving as much as Drew or Chris, and that makes him all the more desirable.

2. The mystery – While Drew has basically thrown every card on his table straight at Desiree, Brooks still feels like he’s holding something back, and there are still surprises left for her to unlock if she chooses him in the end. (Whether or not that’s a good thing, we’ll let you decide.)

3. The balance – Really, Brooks is a combination in some ways of the other three guys that made it to hometown dates. He has the humor of Zak mixed with the tenderness of Drew, and also some of the down-to-earth charm of Chris. He’s also still adventurous, and makes her feel loved without feeling overwhelmed. Granted, that does not mean that Brooks is ready to take the next step and propose…
