‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: Peter Weller goes from director to actor
How’s this for some awesome “Sons of Anarchy” news? We’ve been excited over the past several years to see what Peter Weller would bring to the proceedings as a director, but who knew that he would end up being cast in the show, as well?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Weller (who we will always remember first and foremost for his role as Robocop) has been cast to play the role of an ex-cop who works at the Stockton port, and has some sort of encounter with various members of SAMCRO. It’s not clear whether this is going to be a role that lasts for more than one episode or not, but it’s yet another nice little wink that gets people involved in all aspects. (Showrunner Kurt Sutter has been playing the part of the now-tongueless Otto for many years.)
As you already know, “Sons of Anarchy” season 6 is going to premiere on FX Tuesday, September 10 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. We don’t quite know why this is suddenly big news today, given that we’ve been saying this since the weekend. Weller’s got a few episodes coming up on his directing slate this year, and the reason he doesn’t do more than just a small chunk is that it takes so much time in pre and post-production to direct an episode that you’re really not able to do every one, at least if you are on a show of this sort of magnitude.
Sadly, the full trailer teased at Comic-Con has yet to be released publicly, which is probably really making you wish you were at San Diego this past weekend. You can at least check out some highlights from it courtesy of the link here.
