‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: Recent ‘Revenge’ guest off to Farhampton

The “How I Met Your Mother” guest star list continues to balloon for this coming season. So far, Sherri Shepherd and Wayne Brady are already booked for major roles, and while we don’t quite know how many episodes Roger Bart will be turning in just yet, he is going to be a part of the hotel universe that Barney and Robin will be calling home on this spectacular / potentially-disastrous wedding weekend.

TV Guide reports that Bart, who we know best for his work as the crazy Mason Treadwell on ABC’s hit “Revenge,” will be appearing for multiple episodes as a hotel employee … and that is all that has been released about the character thus far. The name “Farhampton” should be very familiar as a wedding locale, at least based on the train station that has brought tears to our eyes over both Ted and the Mother.

One interesting pattern that we are starting to see from this show is this: The possibility of having many characters around for extended arcs. We usually have a ton of guest stars around thanks to people possibly popping in and out of gang’s lives; but with these 24 episodes so concentrated on a short period of time, we are more likely to see the same sort of people pop up time and time again. (Sadly, we still don’t know if one of those people will be the awesome John Lithgow.)

For those of you hoping for Lithgow or other stars to appear, don’t worry: There are more announcements coming soon… the guest star list is far from complete.

Meanwhile, if you want to catch a glimpse of some hilarity, there is plenty of it courtesy of the show’s recent Comic-Con panel, including of course that hilarious video featuring Ted’s children freaking the you-know-what out on him over his story that has lasted for nine years.
