‘The Newsroom’ season 2, episode 2 preview: Maggie tells Jim about the video
On last week’s season premiere of “The Newsroom,” we saw what was basically the beginning of Maggie’s life completely and totally falling apart. Thanks to a “crazy New Yorker” video that was posted on YouTube, her relationship with Don is now completely over, and she is back to rooming with her old pal and Jim’s ex Lisa.
So why is Maggie calling Jim up now? Well, it’s not exactly about a hope for a reconciliation. Instead, she is just trying to do her best to inform him that there is a video out there that involves him in some way, but she tells him at the same time that she is doing her best to have it taken down.
Unfortunately, Jim is going to probably still be away from the world of ACN for a while, thanks largely to him starting up his new gig working for the Mitt Romney campaign. This is a pretty pedestrian gig considering his resume, but he took it specifically with the purpose of getting out and away from all of the drama happening within the building. Granted, the irony in the middle of this is that his exit from ACN really sparked the entire chain of events that leads to the Genoa scandal, and the deposition that we see Will and the other characters being involved with at the start of the season. In a way, his feelings for Maggie could mean the end for Will McAvoy’s show. (Boom.)
What did you think about this video, and do you think that there are hopes for Jim and Maggie to actually be on good terms at the end of this season? If you want to check out our full review on the premiere, be sure to head on over to the link here.
