Meghan Ory has to feel rather thrilled right now about landing a series regular role in the new CBS drama “Intelligence,” but at the same time, it has come with some news that not everyone can be necessarily so thrilled with: She is no longer a major part of “Once Upon a Time.” Losing Red / Ruby was a blow to Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, but at the same time, this was also a move that they were by and large prepared for. They each knew that Ory was blossoming into a major TV star, and it would be hard to keep her with a role that was declining in content during season 2.
At the end of the day, there shouldn’t be any hard feelings given that Ory made it clear while at the “Intelligence” panel today that she is definitely hoping to be back in Storybrooke on at least one occasion this year:
“As I’ve said to a few people, ‘Red never died. Ruby never died.’ She’s around somewhere. I like to think she just went running around the woods in wolf-form. She’s like, ‘You know, I want to stretch my legs and go for a run.’ So I think that we will see her again.”
As for when that will be, early in the season is our guess. Since “Intelligence” is a mid-season entry to the schedule, there may be some time in the fall for her to stop in on her old show for a little visit. (We certainly hope so, given that it will help to bridge the gap to not having her around.) Both shows shoot in Vancouver, so that is going to definitely help.
