NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 2 spoilers: Hugh Dancy, execs talk future at Comic-Con

Hannibal

While “Hannibal” may not actually be holding its Comic-Con panel until later on tonight, we did get an opportunity to catch a brief glimpse into what could await some of the Fannibals who show up to Room 6A tonight, and it’s all courtesy of Hugh Dancy, Bryan Fuller, David Slade, and Martha de Laurentiis all stopping by the Entertainment Weekly interview booth.

The biggest thing that is changing here is that Will is actually going to be starting off this season in the institution, meaning that we will see him try to handle his bizarre new situation, and the fact that the real person he is on to in Dr. Lecter will still be running around as a free man. As for how we can potentially see him handle this news at the end of the day, the answer is pretty simple: Probably not well. He’s certainly going to have plenty of time to sit around and think to himself.

As for how long we could see Will locked up, Dancy certainly does not believe it will last all season:

“You probably couldn’t get away with a whole season in the institution … There has been that reversal, so we do get to play with the [images] and the tropes that come later on in the timeline.”

As for how long the team would like to see the show last and fully explore the Hannibal story, the answer was seven seasons. As for whether or not that actually happens, though, it will depend largely on the powers-that-be, and some important decisions that are made based on ratings (which we are hoping will improve).
