Lindsay Lohan expands relationship with Oprah Winfrey, scores OWN docu-series

Oprah's Next ChapterLet’s hope that Lindsay Lohan has really managed to find a way to change while in treatment this time around, given that she may have just been handed one of the best opportunities she has had to date courtesy of Oprah Winfrey. Not only will she have a chance to take part in an honest and open interview with the Oprah herself, but OWN is set to air a docu-series that will focus on her comeback and attempt to keep her life together.

In a statement, the network had the following to say about the decision to team up with Lohan, whose struggles are well-documented both in the tabloids and the courtroom:

“OWN will air an exclusive interview with Oprah and Lindsay Lohan that will tape and air in August and an eight-part documentary series with Lindsay for 2014.”

As for why this could be the best move imaginable for Lindsay, OWN is not a network that generally tries to exploit or embarrass its interview guests; instead, they work to be uplifting and positive, and Oprah will surely do her best to surround her subject with some good, positive influences rather than try to damage her career. Plus, we’re sure that Lindsay will make a nice salary off of this while she tries to land some more consistent jobs in the film / TV industry.

Lindsay’s last major role was a guest spot on Charlie Sheen’s “Anger Management,” but even there reports surfaced of bad behavior, including her showing up late to set and not being professional while present.

Do you think that Oprah could actually save Lindsay’s career to a certain extent, or does the idea of this to you sound like too tall an order for even her? If you want to read more news surrounding the Lohan saga, be sure to click here.
