‘The Newsroom’ season 2 spoilers: Take a look at some new characters

The NewsroomAs you prepare for the launch of “The Newsroom” season 2 on Sunday night, HBO wants to ensure that you are as prepared as possible for what is coming up next. How are they preparing to do that? The simple answer is through the power of video content!

If you look below, you can see creator / executive producer Aaron Sorkin introduce you to all of the new faces that are going to be turning up on the show this year, and they include some well-known names such as Constance Zimmer, Marcia Gay Harden, Grace Gummer, and more. Most of these roles do seem designed more to compliment some others that are already a part of the cast. For example, Harden is going to be taking Will McAvoy and the ACN team through what is a complicated deposition process that unfolds throughout the entire season; meanwhile, Gummer will play a woman who Jim runs into a contends with while covering the Mitt Romney campaign. Is there relationship potential here? It’s possible.

Meanwhile, Zimmer plays the part of a Romney campaign worker who basically keeps the press at bay as much as humanly possible, whereas Hamish Linklater is taking on the part of Jerry Dantana, a man who comes into the ACN offices in hopes of catching the next big story while Jim is away. Does he succeed? Both yes and no, as the scoop he lands ends up unraveling in a way that virtually no one sees coming.
