In a new interview with TVLine, the actress behind Dr. Cassie McKay in Fiona Dourif indicated that the cast and crew will be back at work on the show come Wednesday, June 17. Isn’t that something worthy of excitement? The third season will likely remain in the works behind the scenes until early on next year, at least based on what we saw with the season 2 timeline.
As for what Dourif wants to see moving forward, it may have a good bit to do with her character’s personal life:
Though this wasn’t obvious or written in, but by the time I wrapped Season 2, I was aware that there is a yearning — this unspecified yearning that colors her life and that, again, I relate to. I think it’s pretty common, but it wasn’t something that I had initially read into her. I think it’s a yearning for meaning and intimacy and relationships, and very human things.
In general, our feeling here is that we are going to be seeing some sort of changes for her since what we saw at the end of season 2 — but will that be enough to make her happy? That is a hard thing for anyone to find in life, let alone someone with this stressful of a job.
