Widow’s Bay season 2: Are there more stories to tell?

At the time of this writing, it is very-much true that there is no Widow’s Bay season 2 announced over at Apple TV. With that being said, there are absolutely still reasons to be hopeful!

First and foremost, we have to acknowledge that the show has already managed to be extremely successful in a fairly short period of time, and that is as rare of a feat as anything else — and definitely something to be embraced. It has gotten a ton of attention through word-of-mouth and recommendations, a reminder that this is really the best promotion more so than some overwhelming series of ads.

So while we wait for official news, we are at least pleased to note that there could be more stories to tell beyond this season. This was confirmed by director and executive producer Hiro Murai, who had the following to say in a new interview with IndieWire:

“I feel like there’s just so much, the whole show is the ensemble, and there’s so many characters that I would love to see more of … I just think it’ll be a thicker soup, a thicker stew [if we get a] next season.”

For the time being, our hope here remains that we’re going to be learning a lot more about all of these different people, but also getting new wrinkles to the mysterious town at the same time. Based on just what we have seen within the walls of the historical society alone, it does feel like there are dozens of new mysteries that could surface at almost any point. That is without mentioning finding some more talented actors to come on board, as this show has already assembled some of the best ones out there.
