Later this week on Apple TV you will have an opportunity to not just dive into Widow’s Bay season 1 episode 8, but also revel in the journey.

After all remember first and foremost here that it was never a sure thing that we would even see a show like this, one that is so offbeat and attempting to combine so many different genres, be as successful as it has been. We are at a point now where the horror-comedy feels like a near lock for a renewal, especially as more and more people end up discovering it.

Now that we have said all of this, here is where we do turn things over to one of the central figures behind the scenes in Matthew Rhys. Not only does he star as Mayor Tom, but he is also an executive producer and finds a real joy in bringing this crazy world to life.

If you head over to the link here, you can see a new appearance from Rhys on The Today Show where he discusses his relief that viewers have responded to the show as much as they have. After all, he notes that there was never a guarantee that people would respond to the show as much as they have and by virtue of that, everyone is rather pleased to now be where they are with it. There are only three episodes left, and we tend to think that this is one of the most fascinating eras for the show yet. After all, remember for a moment that Tom seems to think that the town has been saved now following what happened to Richard … but is it really? Let’s just say that he and Wyck both are putting a lot of collective faith into what they’ve done with a guy who was buried underground for centuries and within that, presumably has no real idea what was going on.
