Widow’s Bay season 2: Does the cast know anything?

We do find ourselves very lucky at present to know that a Widow’s Bay season 2 is likely to happen at Apple TV — at least based on the numbers. That is without even talking about 1) the quality of the story or 2) the fact that more and more people seem to be discovering it.

Given that this show seems to be almost reinventing itself every week at this point, we can only imagine what the producers could come up with moving forward. As it turns out, a lot of the cast are also left to imagine at present — there is no larger intel out there right now regarding the future.

In speaking about some of this further in a new piece over at Esquire, here is some of what cast member Stephen Root (Wyck) had to say:

“If we have another season, we’ve gotten no clues from [show creator Katie Dippold] as to where the through line is going to be, and that’s fine for now … I’m interested in seeing more about the island because the island itself is a character. But the reason you watch a show is if you’re investing in the character, and I’m hoping that we’ve connected enough that they want to keep coming to see what happens to us.”

We do not personally think that there is really all that much to be concerned about here at all, if for no other reason than that the investment is almost certain to just grow from here on out — and what wouldn’t it, all things considered? This is a chance for this show to only further prove its strength and sense of humor.
