Euphoria ending with season 3; no season 4 coming

Even though HBO promoted last night’s Euphoria as the season 3 finale, it just so turns out that it is also the end of the series — and that is now official.
Speaking to Popcast in an interview posted after the episode aired, creator Sam Levinson confirmed the news, stating that there was no more story he really needed to tell within this world:
“In terms of the story that we set out to tell, which is a story about addiction and its consequences, this feels like the end to me … [It was] such a fulfilling journey in terms of this cast, the crew, what we were able to accomplish.”

Now, does this completely eliminate the chance of a spin-off or something else in this world? Only time will tell, mostly because it does feel like there is always an opportunity to explore things further with a few other characters who are still around and out there. Our question would be whether or not HBO would be eager in that concept, or if such a story would sustain itself for eight episodes. Also, it is worth noting that the biggest star whose character is still alive is Sydney Sweeney, and it feels like she has a good bit going on when it comes to her film career at this point.
As polarizing as the end of Euphoria truly was, there is certainly no denying that it ended up being a runaway hit for the network — and one of their defining original shows of this generation. While it is technically an adaptation, the end product itself became so famous that very few people are even aware of the original.
