Euphoria season 3 episode 8 (finale) preview: Nate’s funeral ahead?

With the Euphoria season 3 finale just a matter of days away from its arrival over at HBO, this feels like the perfect time to discuss mourning. Or, to be more specific, how much of it we are really going to be seeing here over the course of the extended episode.

Was Nate the most likable guy in the world? Far from it. We are talking here about a terrible dude who had a tendency to do terrible things. Yet, he was Cassie’s husband, as well as a key part of many characters’ lives dating back to the first season. Personal feelings do not necessarily mitigate that impact, and that is without even noting the particularly shocking way that he was killed via the snake (and being buried alive).

We should note that there was no funeral scene showcased within the promo for episode 8, but that does not necessarily mean everything. It could happen off-screen, or with a smaller group present. It is also just possible that this is one of those things that nobody wanted to spoil in advance in fear that it was going to give a little bit too much away in case people saw the promo first without seeing episode 7.

No matter if there is a funeral or not, we do think it is still important to remember that Nate is going to look rather large. We do not personally think that the show is in the business of having set up something like this and then not giving us any sort of emotional aftermath. In one way or another, Nate will always still reverberate through whatever Euphoria becomes.
