Marshals season 2 spoilers: More on big cliffhanger aftermath

There are so many different things that we can say about Marshals season 2 at CBS but first and foremost, we’re just glad it is going to exist. Filming for the next chapter of the Yellowstone spin-off with Luke Grimes is going to begin shortly, which is certainly a move that will help it to be ready to go come this fall.
So what is the story going to be? Well, first and foremost, it does seem as though both Cal and Belle are going to be alive following the big season 1 finale cliffhanger. You do not have to be worried about that but still, there are a lot of other story elements that could be used to occupy your headspace for at least the reasonably near future.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, star Arielle Kebbel (who plays Belle) indicates that there is not going to be much of a time jump between seasons, allowing everyone really a chance to dive into everything further almost right away:
We pick up immediately in season two where we left off, especially with the Weaver ranch and the looming circumstances there. I think people may be surprised to see just how bad it gets. I really appreciate that, because it’s a nod to the Yellowstone ongoing battle of land and wealth and power and money, and how far people will go to protect their land. It really speaks to that. We pick up in season two feeling the horse and ranch life.
Ultimately, our general feeling is that the second season is really going to be an opportunity to better understand what makes some of these people kick. Weaver has been set up at this point to be the central adversary and with that being the case, we at least appreciate a lack of ambiguity when it comes to one part of the story.
