Marshals season 2 spoilers: More on Cal’s cancer struggle
We are lucky enough to know that that a Marshals season 2 is going to be coming to CBS this fall — not only that, but filming will be starting soon!
Is there a lot to be excited for regarding the upcoming chapter of the story? Absolutely, but we also would not blame anyone who is also out there feeling nervous. Just consider for a moment the Weaver cliffhanger, or the fact that both Cal and Belle’s fates are left uncertain. Even if Cal survives, there is also the recent cancer reveal that has to be contended with. That is not something that will go away and by virtue of that, he will need to face it head-on.

So is there any chance that the character can both lead the team and take on this diagnosis? Well, that feels almost impossible, and that is something that star Logan Marshall-Green addressed further to TV Guide:
Well, if we take cancer seriously. If you’re going to approach cancer, it should be hard. I think he has to step away, to be completely honest. I haven’t said that out loud until right now, but I don’t know how he could lead that team and also fight his own battle with cancer. But you know, I’m not the writer.
We recognize here that there is a universe in which the show just time-jumps over most of the cancer battle, but why would you want to do that? After all, the whole objective of a show like this show be trying to give you as many different dramatic situations as possible — the good and the bad of these characters. It certainly feels like this one could push Cal to the limit.
