Jacob Elordi on leaving Euphoria, Nate’s death

Given that last night was the penultimate episode of Euphoria season 3 (and possibly the series), it made a lot of sense for some big stuff to happen. Having Nate be killed off, though, was certainly not something we expected — especially due to the way in which it happened.
Just think about everything that has happened to the guy over the past few episodes, whether it be dismemberment, getting bloodied after his wedding, or ultimately being buried alive. The thing that did him in was that snake crawling into his wooden prison under the dirt.

So what was it like filming that goodbye experience? As it turns out, rather relaxing despite the dark nature of it. In a new behind-the-scenes video over at HBO (watch here), Elordi had the following to say:
“Nate is someone who has made so many mistakes and made, sort of, so many dark choices … It’s cool to see it all come to what it’s come to. I had to go into this coffin. My shoulders were touching the side, and I couldn’t move my arms. And then they would drill the lid on, and it would get dark. It was really nice, actually. It was quite peaceful in there.”
It may go without saying, but the death of Nate could loom large throughout the finale. How are people like Cassie going to react to this long-term? Or, is anyone really going to have that much time to reflect? Someone’s problems do not necessarily go away after they are gone and for now, that is at least one thing that you do have to wonder about.
