Euphoria season 3 episode 8 (finale) spoilers: Run Rue, run

Next week on HBO, Euphoria season 3 episode 8 is going to arrive — and are you even remotely prepared for what is ahead?

First and foremost, it is worth noting at this point that the network is promoting this as the “season finale” as opposed to the end of the series. If Sam Levinson truly wanted to end the show outright, wouldn’t this be promoted as such? Our feeling is that they want to leave the door open behind the scenes, even if it means waiting several years for another chapter. A part of the challenge there could be getting back Zendaya, who has already said she wants to take a break after an extremely busy past year.

As for what the promo for what is ahead gives away, it really just feels like Rue’s survival is going to be front and center in everything. She’s had to work many sides over the course of the season, and we also tend to think she is well-aware of how much time has been running out. Cassie may also literally know this at this point given the situation surrounding Nate. (Also, Nate’s death.)

In true show fashion, we do anticipate the finale offering up a reasonable amount of closure, and it would be a major surprise if there is some sort of huge cliffhanger at the very end of it. Is there a chance that there could still be some unresolved questions? Absolutely, and that would be what we would bank on as a tease for what could be coming. In the meantime, we just assume that things are going to be chaotic, drama, and even soul-crushing at times.
