Ghosts season 6 spoilers: EP talks cliffhanger resolution

We know that in the wake of the Ghosts season 5 finale on CBS last night, there are so many questions involving the future.
Where do we start here? Well, it really just has to do with Pete’s fate. That was the cliffhanger in the closing seconds of the finale, as he seemed to disappear off to oblivion. Our hope is that he makes it back but even if he does, is this the same version of the guy we once knew? This is at least a little bit of what we are left to think about at this particular moment.

Speaking to TV Insider, executive producer Joe Wiseman was at least kind enough to say that the show won’t string along answers when it comes to whether or not Pete has a future:
“[Fans] will not have to wait. We’re gonna deal with [it] … I know [the return] was couched as midseason, but with these specials that are going to be an hour long, we’re basically just premiering two weeks later than we normally would.”
Wiseman is referencing here the rather simple fact that there are Halloween and Christmas specials coming as a kick-off for season 6, while the remainder of the season will be saved until winter 2027. That may be a while to wait, but at least not everything is going to linger. We also tend to think that when Ghosts does come back in the new year, there will not be too many extended breaks thrown into the middle of it — at least compared to some other shows. (So long as it remains on Thursday nights, the only one we would be worried about is in the middle of March Madness.)
