Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 3: Kelly Reilly on Beth’s journey
As we look towards Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 3 on Paramount+ next week, it is easy to say so much is different for Beth. After all, she no longer has the same enemies as she did in Montana, and this is a chance to build something more from the ground up.
Is she going to find more trouble for herself? Sure, with some of it being tied to Beulah Jackson. All of that may get even more complicated due to Wes’ body and everything with Rob-Will … but we’re not there yet. Beyond just that, remember that Rip technically doesn’t have all the information as to how the body got there! These are simply seeds being planted that the show can pay off later.

Speaking in a new interview with Variety, here is at least some of what Kelly Reilly herself had to say about the journey as we move forward:
So this is starting again, just literally, but there is a new beginning in her. I was guided internally on where she might be. I wondered about, without the fight, who she is now? What does that space get filled with? Is there an internal kind of thoughtfulness in her that’s suddenly arriving, growing? All of those moments after a huge life change, where you’re just trying to figure yourself out and create a new home and a new business. She’s literally starting again, without a fight for now.
Ultimately, we do think that there are some classic Beth scenes that we will be seeing before Dutton Ranch is over, but it may take some time for us to witness them all. After all, if you are the producers here, the goal has to be to 1) show evolution and then 2) bring a number of different elements to the table.
