9-1-1: Nashville season 2 premiere date hopes over at ABC
Given that tonight does mark the season 1 finale of 9-1-1: Nashville, why not dive deeper into season 2 and what to expect?
First and foremost, let’s issue a quick reminder that the spin-off is coming back for more. Its renewal was announced earlier this spring and beyond just that, we even know that Ryan Phillippe is on board! As is often the case with new shows, you have someone on board for the sophomore outing to try and mix things up further. You ultimately just have to hope that it adds new layers and livens things up even further.

So as for when 9-1-1: Nashville season 2 could premiere, the most likely answer is late September or early October. Much will depend, however, on whatever the powers-that-be at ABC decide. Do they continue to pair the spin-off up with the original show, or venture into a totally different direction? There are still possibilities that are out there and yet, it makes the most sense to us to have it stay on Thursday nights — that way, it can build the audience to be as strong as humanly possible.
An official premiere-date announcement could come at some point this summer and in general, it is our feeling that we’re going to see the show bring everything to the table that it did in season 1 — just to another level. Sure, there will be a lot of first-responder crises, but also character moments, soapy reveals, and also opportunities to celebrate the culture and vibe of the city. We also would not be surprised if there is a crossover at some point, but you do need to be careful with how much you bring these to the table. After all, don’t you want them to be special?
