Widow’s Bay season 1 episode 4: Big changes ahead for Tom?

Next week on Apple TV, you are going to have a chance to see Widow’s Bay season 1 episode 4 — and is everything about to be different for Tom?
Well, for the time being, let’s just start by noting the following here: He believes that he’s seen the Sea Hag. Not only that, but that Wyck saved his life! It does still remain to be seen if anything is truly supernatural, or if we are just seeing him be manipulated by someone / a group of people trying to keep the tourists away from the town.

No matter what is truly going on here, one thing feels abundantly clear: Almost everything will be different for thee story moving forward. Speaking to The Wrap, executive producer Katie Dippold notes that the end of episode 3 is a significant turning point:
“A lot of this was just following my gut. I knew I would be frustrated by a show where the whole time Tom refuses to believe it, so I looked at Episode 3 as the end of Act One … Now, there’s no more denying it. The first couple of episodes, he’s in complete denial, and I wanted to have something happen that was just undeniable.
“Something supernatural is happening. This place is cursed. He cannot fight that anymore … The complication is now the tourists are here, and now Tom has to contend with that. [Episode 3] just felt like the right time to get to it.”
Ultimately, we do think that this is the sort of move that will propel everyone through the rest of the season, and we are certainly eager to see what that looks like. We do think that Tom’s paranoia could send him over the edge … and there could be more scares coming at the same exact time.
