Dexter: Resurrection season 2: Any new Krysten Ritter hopes?

For those who are not aware as of yet, filming for Dexter: Resurrection season 2 is ongoing now in New York City — so why not talk more about Lady Vengeance today?

After all, we should start here by noting that the fate of Krysten Ritter’s Mia has long been the subject of speculation. After all, it was very-much implied that she was killed during the first season of the show; yet, her file in the finale still had an “active” label attached to it, suggesting that her death could have been somehow staged. Also, this is a franchise that does have a history of bringing people back from the dead (or at least close to it — look at Dexter himself).

What we can say for now is that there is no direct evidence yet that Ritter will be returning for season 2; however, everyone is still in the early going here! Odds are, Brian Cox as the New York Ripper will be the central Big Bad for the story, and that is without noting Dan Stevens being cast as the Five Borough Killer. Our feeling is that if Ritter (who has been filming another show in New York as of late) does come back, it would be as a guest star / recurring player, similar to season 1.

Beyond just Krysten…

There is clearly one other notable season 1 killer out there right now in Eric Stonestreet’s Al a.k.a. Rapunzel. Unlike Lady Vengeance we know that he is still alive, as he skipped town close to the end of season 1. We do think that Dexter Morgan is going to track him down at some point, but that does not mean it will happen soon.
