Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date hopes as filming starts

If you somehow missed the glorious news over the past few days, filming for Dexter: Resurrection season 2 officially underway in New York City! It has been a long time coming, and there has certainly been a lot of discussion regarding the cast already. Take, for starters, the fact that Brian Cox and Dan Stevens are officially on board now, and that Uma Thurman will be surprisingly coming back as Charley.

With all of this information in mind, we do inevitably now drift our mind over to the next unavoidable question: When exactly the Showtime drama will be back. We recognize that the hope is a fast turnaround, but is that anywhere close to guaranteed?

Well, at least for now, here is what we can say. The first season of the revival managed to turn things around so much quicker than anyone could have anticipated, and that leaves the possibility open that you will see the second season arrive come October. If not then, November is certainly in play. We do not blame anyone who wants the show back sooner than that, but this is the realistic timeline given that once filming is done, there is still a lot of post-production required.

The big question that remains

What will happen here in the aftermath of Batista’s death? That is one of the things that has not even come close to being answered just yet, and we are not quite sure that it will be for a little while still. You could argue that at some point Joey Quinn could turn up in New York City but at the same time, would that be too much of a repeat of everything we have seen before? At least for now, you do have to wonder…
