Given how much drama there is to report on when it comes to Love Island USA season 8 a lot of the time, why not share good news today?

Heading into the installment tonight, we did know that Trinity and Bryce were going to have the first real date of the season. They went out into the water together, and had a time that they each considered to be the best date that they’ve ever been on.

So can we consider Trinity and Bryce one of the real Love Island USA success stories? We want to, even if we realize there is a lot of show still to go. They honestly have one of the healthiest approaches to a relationship we’ve ever seen in this format — they took it slow at first, were not immediately super-physical, and were incredibly honest when they wanted to explore other connections. They tried to not let their feelings get hurt along the way and the time apart at Casa Amor really seemed to allow them to realize how much they cared about each other.

If there is one other thing that makes the relationship stand out at the moment, it is the HUGE divide between them and almost everyone else. Think about Zach exploring at Casa, the huge distrust between Melanie and Sincere, or the fact that Gal just indicated to Jen that the two are not a good fit. Some of the other relationships are at this point too new for us to think that they are going to be long-lasting.

In summation…

Pending some disaster, Bryce and Trinity are winning this season and honestly, they should! They really have fulfilled the purpose of what this show is actually about.
