The Testaments season 1 episode 5: The big Daisy questions

In just a few days we will have a chance to dive more into The Testaments season 1 episode 5 over at Hulu and even now, there is so much we have to think about. The seeds have been planted for the Daisy story to somehow get even more interesting, just what will it look like? How intense are things going to become?
First and foremost, we are really just curious about what her focus will be thanks to the big discovery with Commander McKenzie — he has some business in a place that goes against some of Gilead’s rules. The chocolate discovery in episode 4 was important in that way, and that does bring us further into wondering just what Mayday’s overall goals are now. Are they trying to flip a Commander, or work in order to destroy Gilead from within?

The challenge for us as a viewer is not knowing how much Daisy knows directly about the long-term goals, and that is where someone like Garth has increased importance, as well. The more we learn about what they are really looking to accomplish, the more effective the story will be. We’re also still of the belief that Aunt Lydia knows something — it can’t be a coincidence that she is having Agnes help Daisy out at the school, right?
For those of you wanting to know the truth about Daisy’s identity…
Of course, we are right there with you with that interest! The challenge here is knowing that this is a story that the producers may not want to rush. It does not appear that this is Nichole, as there are some substantial changes coming from the source material. This does allow for a better sort of mystery, no?
