Rooster season 1 episode 4 promo: Is Greg finding himself?

As we prepare to see Rooster season 1 episode 4 on HBO tomorrow night, is there one singular story that you should expect?

There are of course a handful of assorted things worth noting within this article, but one of the biggest is that from where things currently stand, it is clear the producers are fine to take their time with Greg’s story. The Steve Carell comedy does not necessarily have the same jaw-dropping premise that Bill Lawrence comedies like Ted Lasso or Shrinking did. We’re not sure that it can be summarized in just a handful of words. The closest we can get is “acclaimed writer takes a job at a university to get closer to his daughter, who is in the midst of going through some personal drama.” That is a little more complicated and yet, it totally works.

After all, one of the more charming aspects of the show is seeing Greg start to realize that he actually needed this job, and he is not just there to help his daughter out. If you head over to the link here, you can see a promo for episode 4 that features him helping out a student, which in turn leads to him adopting more of the traits of the main character from his book series — someone who feels like a stand-in for Jack Reacher. Some hijinks will ensue, and we of course wonder if it lands him in some trouble.

Meanwhile, at the same time his daughter Katie is going to throw himself more into the casual dating scene. We’ve gotten to know these two over the past few episodes but moving forward, we are going to have a chance to see them let loose. Could this end in disaster? Let’s just say that we wouldn’t be too shocked.
